ATO DIRECT refund scam

If you have responded to this text/SMS, please consider the following steps to reduce the risk of identity fraud:

  1. Call  your bank to tighten security
  2. Call the ATO to report the compromise of your Tax File Number (1800 467 033)
  3. Driver Licence, freeze your credit files: View our Fact sheet on Credit Bans
  4. Run an anti-virus scan on your device.
